Dr. Somesh Kumar is a global health strategist and a public health physician with two decades of experience in global public health programs in public and private sectors across Asia, Africa, and the United States.
He has spent his career facilitating access to and strengthening the quality of global public health services in underserved regions.
He provides leadership to Jhpiego's programs for primary health care services, immunization services, control and prevention of women's cancers, and engagement with the private sector.
He is Jhpiego's Country Director for India, providing strategic leadership to support the strengthening health systems, engagement with the private sector, and game-changing innovations.
Dr. Kumar is also the Senior Director of Technical Leadership and Innovations for Jhpiego, MD/US, guiding transformative programmatic, policy, process, and technology solutions and innovations.
