Dr. Rajyashree N Kutty is a Specialist Surgeon specialising in breast diseases, breast care, breast Cancer screening and spreading Breast Cancer Awareness among ladies of all communities and has been in Muscat for more than 25 years. She has dedicated her career to fulfilling her vision to spread awareness about Breast Cancer and reach out to women of all communities worldwide.
She has covered more than 500 talks on various venues nationally and Internationally about the importance of early detection, regular check-up and healthy living. She is the founder of Barakat AlNoor Clinic, in Alkhuwair 33, mainly for breast diseases. She has all facilities to diagnose under one roof, with personal care without much delay or waiting. She was twice elected Board member of OCA ( Oman Cancer Association), and a member since 2004
She has initiated many activities to spread the awareness about breast cancer. Some of the highlighted events are FIGHT AGAINST BREAST CANCERC(2014), SALUTING THE SURVIVORS (2015), PINKY PROMISE (2016), TORCH BEARERS in Indian Embassy(2017), PINK OCTOBER IN Colleges in Oman (2018), I AM, AND I WILL, SAVE YOUR MOM (2019) in ISWK with 4000 students, CANCER-VIVE & CAN PREVENT in Qurum Beach with 1500 people (2020), BLOCK OUT BREAST CANCER (2022), BCA TORCH BEARERS, HAKUNA MATATA-by regular check, etc. She has been participating in the yearly Walkathon by OCA, a fundraising program for breast cancer, for the last 18 years from 2003 to October. she has also started doing such BCA campaigns in India - Kerala and recently in Nepal. She has been writing articles to spread BCA since 2008 in various newspapers and through TV & Radio (Kairali TV, Jeevan TV). A UNIQUE smartphone app 2016 - Fatma's PINKY PROMISE - the first of its kind in Arabic and English is launched in Oman which will help more ladies to remember to do their regular check-ups as well as How to do the Self Breast Exam; other Indian languages are being added like Malayalam, Hindi and Tamil.
She has given lectures on BCA at Palayam Church, Trivandrum and Vaidhyamadom Vaidhyasala at Palakkad dst. Headed by the well-known Late Cheriya Narayan Namboothiri, For the women forum in Manathawady, Wayanad dst, ACS Med College, Chennai,
Dr. Rajyashree completed her MBBS from Stanley Medical College, Chennai and MS in General Surgery from KMC Mangalore. She initially worked at Royal hospital and later shifted to The Muscat Private Hospital. Her knowledge of various languages, including Hindi, English, Malayalam, Tamil and especially Arabic, has helped her gain the confidence of her lady patients, mostly Omanis.
Dr. Rajyasree is doing many activities for women's empowerment also. She co-founded the global women’s group Wings of Women’s World( www). She is a member of the Indian Medical Association, Nedumbassery branch. She is a member of the committee of support group for cancer patients at Burjeel Hospital, Oman.
She was awarded Oman Woman of the Year 2019 for Health Services. She has been awarded for the last 20 yrs by various associations, institutions, Colleges Churches, in Oman and in, India, and Nepal for her service in spreading Breast Cancer awareness, Notable ones for her service - From Sri KJ Yesudas by Soul of Muscat, recognition by the Indian Schools, Mythri Oman, by Actor Shajohn, Kottayam grp, the
Malayalam wing & Karnataka wing, Mythri etc. Recently She was awarded by Kairali TV as Doctor of the year 2022, and in March 2023 the Life time Achievement award by Asianet News Healthcare awards. She continues her mission with her passion to spread cancer awareness , PREVENTION - so that there is less incidence of Cancer and EARLY DETECTION- so that is better survival rates with good quality of life.
